Kruger's American Bar

Kruger's opened on Krugerstraße in the 1. Bezirk in 1995 and has been Vienna's reliable classical-cocktail room ever since, leather Chesterfield armchairs, dark wood, the kind of low-lit speakeasy register that pre-dates the speakeasy revival by a decade and reads the more authentic for it. The cocktail list runs to about 200 references; the bar takes the classics seriously and the seasonal house-list weekly. The room is the natural after-Staatsoper booking and stays open until 04:00. For the audience leaving Anna Sacher or Le Loft at 23:00, Kruger's is the third stop.
