Two Cretans, daily meze and raki on a Mesaria square
Tucked on a square in unspoilt Mesaria, Pentozali is run by two friends from Crete pouring raki, house wine and a rotating board of hot and cold mezedes. The cooking changes daily beyond the printed menu, running to orzo with stewed beef, black-eyed peas with spinach and proper homemade plates at low prices. The shaded patio fills with regulars, no reservation needed.
Closed Sundays. Skip the menu and ask what's been cooked that day.
