Café 't Smalle
Jordaan
1786 tasting-room brown café on the Egelantiersgracht
One of Amsterdam's most beautiful brown cafés, in a gabled 1642 house at the meeting of the Prinsengracht and Brouwersgracht, with Delft-tiled walls and a canal-side terrace. Famous for its apple pie and the legend of a secret Catholic tunnel beneath the floor. A genuine bruine kroeg, not a themed reproduction.
Heritage brown café (est. 1642 building)
