Karaköy
Selectist's harbour-side hi-fi house with Funktion One sound
june opened on Ahmet Fetgeri quietly, and quickly became Nişantaşı's most credible listening bar. The format is purist, high-end Hi-Fi, vinyl-only, dim lighting, archive built around jazz, soul, funk and ambient, but the room reads more neighbourhood bar than audiophile temple, with cocktails that hold up next to the music (Milfshake, Hawai Pizza, Kaptan Banana). Open 09:00–02:00, so it works as a coffee desk by day and a serious drinks room at night. The closest thing on the European side to what Tokyo's listening rooms actually feel like.
