Opened in 1921 on the shopping artery of Rua Santa Catarina, Majestic is one of the most beautiful cafés in the world, all carved wood, Flemish mirrors and a glass-roofed winter garden. Once the hub of Porto's intellectual and bohemian set, it now serves breakfast, afternoon tea, pastries and classic café fare beneath the original Belle Époque decor. It is a protected piece of the city's heritage.
Editor's Tip
It is touristy and priced for it, but the room is genuine; come mid-morning for coffee and pastel de nata.
