Santo Wines
Pyrgos
Caldera-edge tasting terrace from the island's 1,200 growers
The island's first winery, perched high above Athinios port
Built into the caldera cliff above Athinios port in the late 1940s, Venetsanos was Santorini's first industrial winery and still runs in the founding family's hands. Gravity-fed cellars carved into the rock produce crisp Assyrtiko and a deep, traditional Vinsanto, best met on the dramatic terrace at sunset. A seasonal Sunset Terrace kitchen serves light dinners and local plates to pair with the flights.
Open most of the year, closed mid-December to mid-January; the Sunset Terrace dinners run summer only, so reserve a caldera-facing table ahead.
