Koum Kapi sits just east of the old walls, where the Sabbionara gate opens onto a strip of seafront that has become Chania's casual evening haunt. It is younger and breezier than the old town, beach bars, coffee places and meze spots line the waterfront, and the crowd skews local and after-work rather than sightseeing. You come here for a long coffee or a sundowner with the sea in front of you, then graze on small plates as the night goes on. Less about destination dining, more about the rhythm of an easy seaside evening.
