Frühsammers

Sonja Frühsammer runs the Michelin-starred restaurant inside the Grunewald tennis club on Flinsberger Platz, one of Berlin's quieter and oldest Michelin holdings (the star arrived in 2003 and has held with the family ever since). The setting is pre-war club building wrapped in tall trees; the kitchen is modern-European with serious technique, tasting menus run six or seven courses, lunch is open. The crowd here uses Frühsammers for the long-Sunday-lunch into-the-Grunewald-walk afternoon, or for the older-Berlin dinner that does not announce itself.
