Torba village's family-run Aegean and Turkish kitchen, twenty-plus years on Atatürk Caddesi, manti and çiğ börek
Hoca'nın Yeri is the village table that the Torba hotel boom passed by, a family-run kitchen on Atatürk Caddesi that has been turning out olive-oil Aegean dishes and grill plates for more than two decades. The cooking is the kind that built the peninsula's earlier reputation before the resort openings: a manti plate in garlic yoghurt, a çiğ börek the size of a pillow, a daily-changing meze board, grilled fish from local boats. Ranked among the top village rooms in Torba on Tripadvisor; the room itself is small and seasonal.
The manti and çiğ börek are the entry orders; for an evening table ask what the boats brought in and add the seasonal olive-oil mezze board. Cash works best; the room runs about ten covers so book by phone in August.
