Seafront museum on the Venetian walls, home to two El Greco paintings
Housed in the 1903 Kalokerinos mansion on the coastal avenue beside the Venetian harbour, the IMK traces Crete from the Byzantine era to the present across 22 rooms. Its crown jewels are the only two El Greco paintings on the island, alongside the celebrated model of 17th-century Candia and Kazantzakis material. The serious cultural anchor of the harbour zone.
