La Ménagère
San Lorenzo
All-day concept space: restaurant, cocktail bar, florist and design store
Red-velvet, Pergola-theatre seats, the see-and-be-seen Sant'Ambrogio bistrot
Opened in 1989 with velvet armchairs salvaged from the Teatro della Pergola and late-19th-century boiserie, this all-day caffè is where the neighbourhood takes its cappuccino and budino before the market, and its tagliolini cacio e burro after. The room is pure cinematic Florence without a single tourist cliché. Best in the morning, when the locals own it.
