Open since 1733 and now in its Art Nouveau home on Piazza della Repubblica, Gilli is the city's grandest historic cafe, long a haunt of writers and artists. Belle-epoque rooms, properly made pastries, chocolates and coffee, served with old-Florence ceremony. A landmark cafe that still earns the visit.
