David Loyola, a Chateaubriand alumnus, opened Aux Deux Amis on rue Oberkampf and never quite let it grow up. Café tables on the pavement, a tin-roofed bar inside, a chalkboard of small plates that turns over by the week, and a list of organic, biodynamic and naturally-fermented wines that locals quote from. The charcuterie is a reason on its own; the rest is whatever the kitchen feels like. It's loud, generous, late, and one of the cleanest examples in Paris of the pure cave-à-manger genre. Walk in early or queue.
No bookings. Arrive early or eat late. The charcuterie plate is the order.
