L'osteria milanese di Cesare Battisti, tra classico e contemporaneo
Reborn quarter under the Bosco Verticale towers, blending old trattorias with new design dining.
Isola was a working-class quarter cut off by the railway yards, now joined to the city by the Porta Nuova redevelopment and crowned by Stefano Boeri's Bosco Verticale residential towers. The result is a rare blend of old neighbourhood trattorias and record shops with a new wave of design-led restaurants and natural-wine bars. It is one of the most genuine recent transformations in the city, and a good window onto contemporary Milanese taste.
