Run by Netta Bottone, everyone's idea of an Italian nonna, this rustic Ravello room has been in the family for four generations and roughly seventy years. The draw is honest, abundant home cooking — handmade pasta, gnocchi, the famous mixed-pasta sampler — served without ceremony a step off Piazza Duomo. Bogart, Jackie O and Gore Vidal all ate here; it has never chased the spotlight.
Cash-friendly, no airs; portions are large. The antidote to the coast's fine-dining circuit.
