Vineyard restaurant where Foça Karası, a 2,600-year-old grape, is served alongside Cabernet from the same hillside
The peninsula's youngest serious estate, Chilean winemaking lineage, pre-phylloxera Carignan, panoramic terrace kitchen
HUS is the route's newest argument that Urla still has range. Founded in 2017 by Juan Pablo Diaz Leon, from a Chilean wine family, and Ceylan Ertörer, the estate revived old vineyards between Sığacık bay and the Gulf of İzmir and bottled its first vintage in 2019. The signature is single-grape Carignan from pre-phylloxera vines, a serious bottle by any measure. Above the production hall sits a tasting room, a vineyard restaurant with a tightly seasonal Aegean menu and a long terrace under the olive trees. Two guest rooms upstairs.
The Carignan is the reason to drive here; ask for the older parcel if available. The terrace at sunset is the room to book, call rezervasyon@huswines.com a week ahead.
