Antepliler Baklava
Harringay
London's first authentic Antep baklavacı since 1993, Murat Üstünsürmeli's Grand Parade pastry house
London's oldest market, 4.5 acres of producer-fronted stalls under the Southwark railway arches
Borough Market has stood under the railway arches at Southwark since 1014 in some form; the present iron-and-glass Victorian buildings since the 1850s. A hundred-plus stalls across Three Crown Square, the Green Market and the Borough Market Kitchen, the audience uses it as the producer reference (Neal's Yard Dairy, Brindisa, The Ginger Pig, Monmouth Coffee, Kappacasein toasties) rather than the lunch spot. Closed Monday; serious shopping happens Tuesday and Wednesday before the tourist load. The chapter's only shop entry for the South Bank.
Tuesday or Wednesday at 10:00 is the serious shop, the Saturday market is for the spectacle and the queue. Neal's Yard Dairy for the cheese, Brindisa for the jamón, Monmouth Coffee on Stoney Street for the beans. Skip the toastie queue at Kappacasein unless it is a first London weekend.
