Sketch (The Lecture Room and Library)
Mayfair
Pierre Gagnaire's three-Michelin-star Mayfair drawing room, the most theatrical fine-dining address in W1.
Mount Street seafood and the city's most consequential lunch crowd, the Mayfair set-piece.
Scott's anchors the corner where Berkeley Square's lawyers, the gallerists of Mount Street, and the hotel guests of the Connaught and Claridge's converge for crustacea, dover sole, and a champagne list with depth. The terrace under the awnings is, in summer, the single best seat in W1. The fish is reliable; the room is the point.
Lunch 13:00 on a Thursday, terrace seating, a dozen Lindisfarne oysters and a bottle of Chablis. Book three weeks ahead for the awning seats, they go first.
