| Laatst beoordeeld: May 2026 The Muffatwerk started life in 1837 as a pumping station and later as a municipal electricity plant; it was converted to a culture house in the 1990s and now holds the Muffathalle (the larger 1,400-capacity hall), the Ampere (the 400-capacity smaller club for indie concerts and DJ nights), the Muffatcafé (an all-day kitchen with a menu of bowls, brunch and seasonal mains), and one of central Munich's better biergartens, under chestnuts on the Isar bank, fifty metres from the Maximilianeum. The programming runs from international touring acts to electronic club nights to spoken-word readings. The café and biergarten are walk-in; the concerts are tickets-online.
