Bodrum's pre-Cumhuriyet-rush institution, on the Neyzen Tevfik harbour since 1979
Sünger has held its corner on Neyzen Tevfik for more than four decades and remains the Bodrum Town institution: a wood-burning oven, a long pizza menu that reads more Italian-Aegean than American, a clientele that is half local family, half Istanbul holidaymaker. The building, the recipes and the staff have outlasted three Bodrum eras.
Sit upstairs facing the harbour. The Sünger Special is the order, with the spinach side; the wine is house-grade and that is fine.
