The Lanesborough
Knightsbridge
The Oetker Collection mansion at Hyde Park Corner, Regency interiors, a personal butler in every room, and Céleste under the cupola.
The Maybourne sister to Connaught and Claridge's, Wilton Place, a rooftop pool over Hyde Park, and a 2024 redesign that finally looks contemporary.
The Berkeley is the third Maybourne house in London, and after a near-decade renovation that finished in 2024 alongside the new-build Emory next door, it is the one to book when the audience wants the Connaught hand without the Connaught lobby. Marcus Wareing's old room is gone; the Collins Room and Cedric Grolet's pastry counter run the ground floor; the rooftop pool is the only one of its kind in the postcode. The Blue Bar by Bryan O'Sullivan is the actual reason regulars still walk in.
Book a Hyde Park-facing room above the fifth floor, the pool deck is on top of the hotel, not on a separate building. The Blue Bar is the better drinking room than anything at the Connaught downstairs; do not skip it. Prêt-à-Portea afternoon tea is the gimmick, order it once, then go to Claridge's for the proper version.
