Reserve a window table on the upper floor for the Sureyya Opera facade, the building's history matters here more than any specific dish. Order the rakı setup with three or four cold mezes (Rum-style enginar, midye dolma, lakerda) before any hot plate; the kitchen gets ambitious where it shouldn't. Avoid Friday-Saturday after 22:00 unless you want a meyhane chorus next to your table.

The garden seats are the entire reason to come; reserve specifically and ask for a corner away from the entrance. Order the kalamar dolma and yaprak sarması in levrek, both are signatures and both fall apart fast on busy services, so 19:30 is the sweet spot. Skip the more elaborate ızgara plates; the kitchen is at its best with restrained Aegean classics.
