Hacımemiş
Hacımemiş's quiet stone garden, a chef's Aegean address that has held the same Tire-sourced standard since 2010
An 1800s Hacımemiş courtyard under the olive trees, the village's most romantic stone-house dining room
Banu and Haluk Maga took on a 19th-century Greek mansion in Hacımemiş in 2014 and turned its olive-shaded courtyard into one of Alaçatı's most quietly assured rooms. Chef Çaykun Gelgeç runs a seasonal Aegean menu that crosses easily into Greek territory, moussaka the way the island grandmothers made it, zucchini-flower tempura, an anise panna cotta, and the tahini cookies have their own following. The kind of address you book a fortnight ahead in August and lose an evening to.
Ask for a table at the back of the courtyard, under the olive tree rather than the bougainvillea. Order the moussaka and the grilled octopus; finish on the tahini cookies regardless of how full you are.
