Hacımemiş's quiet stone garden, a chef's Aegean address that has held the same Tire-sourced standard since 2010
Roberto Fracasso's Hacımemiş courtyard, the only Alaçatı oven where the pizzaiolo is actually Italian
Roberto Fracasso opened his first pizzeria in Bremerhaven in 1978 and brought four decades of Veneto-trained dough to Hacımemiş a few years ago. The room is small and looks like nothing from the street; through the doorway it opens into a stone courtyard shaded by a pomegranate tree, with the wood oven at the back and Roberto himself in front of it most nights. The crusts are 48-hour fermented and slightly Neapolitan in build; the kitchen extends to a short list of pasta and risotti and an actual tiramisù. The cocktail list is afterthought; the wine list isn't. Closed Tuesdays.
Skip the headline diavola and order whatever Roberto suggests with the seasonal vegetables, he typically has one off-menu pizza he's working on. The zucchini fries to start, the tiramisù to close. Reserve; the courtyard takes maybe twelve tables.
