Banyalbufar

Banyalbufar is a terraced village on the Tramuntana's western coast, its hillside carved into the dry-stone marjades that Moorish settlers built to grow vines and tomatoes on near-vertical land. It is tiny and remote-feeling, a single main road through stone houses with the sea glittering far below and the famous Malvasia wine slowly returning to its slopes. The few places to eat trade on that view and on local produce, simple Mallorcan cooking served on terraces that hang over the drop. This is a place for a long, slow meal with the coast spread out beneath you.
