Two stars at the Bayerischer Hof, Kevin Romes era, opened April 2026.
Munich's fine-dining legend, 2 Michelin stars under Benjamin Chmura
When it opened in Schwabing in 1971, Tantris wrote a new chapter for German haute cuisine. After Hans Haas's 2020 retirement, the kitchen passed to Paul Bocuse Institute graduate Benjamin Chmura, Feinschmecker's 2024 'Chef of the Year'. Today it operates as Tantris Maison Culinaire under two concepts: the main Tantris prix fixe (2 Michelin) and Tantris DNA à la carte. Ranked 88th on World's 50 Best 2024. The orange-and-purple 1970s interior remains Munich's most identity-driven dining room.
Open Tuesdays as well in December 2026. Annual closure 22 July - 5 August 2026. The Hans Haas-era three stars are now adjusted to two; the room's place in German dining history holds.
